2010 Summer Concert Series presented by Walgreens

The Magnificent Mile in partnership with Walgreens, ABC7 Chicago and 101.9fm THE MIX will celebrate A Magnificent Summer with FREE outdoor concerts featuring top musical artists among the beautiful, blooming gardens of The Magnificent Mile. All concerts will take place at the plaza of the iconic John Hancock Center (875 N. Michigan Avenue). No tickets necessary. See below for this year’s line-up!

Michael Franti and Spearhead offer a blend of hip hop with a variety of influences including funk, reggae, jazz, folk, and rock as heard in hit “Say Hey (I Love You)”. The band is fresh off their spring tour with John Mayer and also played at President Obama’s inauguration events. Tyler Hilton from One Tree Hill is the opening act. Kris Allen

The summer concert series continues with the sensational sound of Kris Allen, winner of the eighth season of American Idol. He released his self-titled album on November 17, 2009 featuring popular hits “Live Like We’re Dying” and “The Truth.”

The final concert features the acoustic sound of “Guster.” Known for their live performances, humor and cult following, the band’s untitled sixth studio album is set to be released in September. Listen to “Satellite” and “One Man Wrecking Machine”.
